What a testimony this village of 450 of our African brothers and sisters has for what the Lord has done!

Starving and without education for their children, the people of Wanfufu had no idea a very good God sent strangers from across the world to help them. When a team of drop-dead, sold-out Jesus freaks from OpenDoor Church found this village several months back, “dust” was the proper name to call it.

But the word says, “He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; he seats them with princes and has them inherit a throne of honor.” – 1 Samuel 2:8a

When King Jesus put these hurting people on our radar, He set something beautiful in motion. Not only have we built a school there, but this month, we’re starting a food outreach, which we will kick off with a day of feasting as thanksgiving to the Lord!

Know this: these people have never known a day of feasting – where there is more food than they can eat. That changes now! Our team will be in Uganda soon and because we are bringing provision from heaven, the chief of Wanfufu has acknowledged the goodness of God by changing the name of the village to Matendo – the African word for Praise!

Isn’t that so Kingdom? Just like Father God changed the names of Abraham and Paul when they became redeemed, this village is announcing to the world that it has been redeemed! I just think that’s so cool and you should too. It’s because of your support that OpenDoor Church, SPARK Worldwide and Troy Brewer Ministries can be the world-changers Jesus called us to be.

Thank you my friends and remember Matendo in your prayers and your gifts. To sow into this ministry just write “Dust to Praise” on your giving envelope at church, or on the note on your online gift by clicking here.

MATENDO JESUS!

I call you the head and not the tail, above and not beneath, and the highly favored of the Lord!
